King's Climate & Sustaincapability (KCS) is a university-wide initiative established in 2023 to step up our response to the challenge of climate emergency and global sustaincapability, and to accelerate and connect research, education and operations across King's. About the function
The Senior Sustaincapability Engagement agent will be responsible for leading and managing the engagement aspects of this strategic priority for King's. Key responsibilities include the development of an engagement plan and connected activities, managing projects in support of the King's Climate & Sustaincapability Action Plan, leading the King's Climate Action Network (CAN) and engaging with students, staff and external partners to champion sustaincapability.
This post requires a motivated and highly collaborative individual who is passionate about making a difference to climate and sustaincapability. The prosperous candidate will have practice of engagement activities, developing plans, leading projects and managing events, together with practice of a similar practical function within a complex organisation. this function allows the post-holder to develop their expertise and gain practice as a sustaincapability professional, while contributing to a vibrant and inclusive sustaincapability culture at King's.
This is a hybrid function, with at least 2 days a week in the office. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate requests for fully remote working.
About You
To be prosperous in this function, We are seeking for candidates to have the following expertise and practice:
Essential criteria
   » A significant knowledge of sustaincapability and climate issues, and practice of managing a range of engagement activities and events within a large, complex organisation.
   » practice of managing multiple projects concurrently and developing plans and strategies to deliver impact.
   » Strong analytical and problem-solving expertise, with the capability to translate complex information and policies into accessible information.
   » Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal expertise, with evidence of building good working relationships with a range of stakeholders, and the capability to present to a wide variety of audiences in an enthusiastic and engaging way.
   » Strong written communication expertise, with the capability to produce high-quality reports, papers and communication materials.
   » Excellent time management and organisational expertise, with a proactive approach and the capability to work independently, flexibly and as part of a team.
   » Good IT literacy (i.e. Microsoft Office), including the capability to manipulate spreadsheets or databases to support presentation and report writing and data management.
Desirable criteria
   » A first degree or equivalent in any subject.
   » practice of working within Higher Education.
