We are seeking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the team as a Programme Administrator. The Institute of Computing for Climate Science (ICCS) studies and supports the function of software engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, and data science within climate science. ICCS is located within the Department of Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) on Wilberforce Road.
The prosperous candidate will be pivotal in coordinating and superviseing the administration and operation of the Institute, to ensure the smooth running of research activities and stakeholder engagement.
The Programme Administrator will be responsible for coordinating the efficient running of the Institute on behalf of the Programme Manager and Executive Programme Director. The responsibilities will include; coordinating and superviseing the administration of the project, developing, monitoring, and updating media (website/social media accounts), coordinating and organising project-related activities and events, assisting with the production of reports, supporting committee work, carrying out financial administration, publicising ICCS events, personal administrative support to the ICCS co-directors and significant HR administration.
We are seeking for a skilled and practiced administrator. You will have excellent interpersonal expertise and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be practiced in building positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external colleagues. You will be well organised, and have a flexible approach to work, with an capability to prioritise tasks efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities along with excellent computer expertise are also essential. You will have some practice in supporting event coordination.
A scientific background is not required for this function, but an interest in supporting research in this area would be beneficial.
