The Department of Politics and International Studies is seeking a proactive and practiced part time (24 hours per week) administrator to provide critical support to the Centre for Latin American Studies.
In addition to the day-to-day running of the Centre, providing support to the Centre staff and its students, this function has oversight of both the MPhil and PhD in Latin American Studies. It is also the Secretary to the Centre's Management Committee, Postgraduate Education Committee and other meetings as required. It also supports the recruitment of the prestigious Simón Bolivar Visiting Professor each year. The post will also line-manage the Events and Communications Coordinator.
Previous practice of administering an academic programme in a busy office is essential, along with the capability to work confidentially and with a wide variety of individuals. Excellent organisational expertise, flexibility and the capability to work on their own initiative are also required.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the prosperous candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
