Who we need
We have a great opportunity for you to become part of our Pastoral Team at the Highfields and London Road campuses supporting our students to become ?Future Ready'. We are seeking for a Personal Development Tutorial Lead who will make a real difference in our aspirational and ambitious college and improve the quality of the student practice.
As part of the function you will:
   » Facilitate sessions designed to develop personal characteristics, social expertise and employcapability expertise
   » Lead, coach and mentor pastoral tutors
   » Design and develop an effective tutorial programme, in collaboration with the Head of Study Programmes
   » Plan fun and inspiring activities and co-ordinate external speakers to enhance the tutorial programme
   » Work collaboratively with curriculum colleagues to ensure the tutorials meet the needs of our students
What you'll bring
You will play a pivotal function in ensuring the student practice is of the highest quality and support students to broaden their practices and take advantage of opportunities from a college wide perspective and beyond.
You should be passionate about student's achieving their potential and be proactive in putting the mechanisms of support in place to make sure we prepare students not only for college life but also for life and work beyond college. You will be responsible for looking after a number of tutor groups,
delivering group tutorials, meeting with students on a 1-1 basis (where appropriate), supporting attendance and liaising with parents/guardians.
The ideal candidate will have practice and a passion for the pastoral care of students (aged 16 plus) and be able to signpost students to the most appropriate support mechanism efficiently.
You will have previous teaching practice, and hold or be prepared to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
This post will have a training/induction period and then continuing training all over your time with the college to ensure we maintain the highest standards of education for our students and professional development for our staff.
