adjunct Professor in Mathematics Education:Job description:Job location: Nottingham The School of Education has a large, well established and highly respected tradition of initial teacher education (ITE). There is a long-established secondary programme and an innovative and growing primary programme. The School seeks to appoint an practiced teacher/teacher educator to work in this area. The function holder will contribute to the leading and teaching of the secondary mathematics ITE programmes and work closely with colleagues on other ITE programmes and the ITE leadership abilities team. Teaching on ITE programmes includes supporting a group of personal tutees across the year and working closely with colleagues in partnership schools. They will contribute to the development of ITE programmes and, potentially, to other programmes offered by the School (e.g. the BA Education, MA Education or PGCE International). They will engage in scholarship of teaching in a range of ways, including innovating and developing curriculum and pedagogy, engaging with key ideas in the field through leadership abilities of projects and writing in the area of mathematics ITE or a related area. candidates should hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (primary), or equivalent, and a masters degree, or equivalent, in a significant area. They should also have substantive teaching practice in secondary mathematics education in the UK and practice of supporting student teachers or ECTs. this function starts in September, or as soon as possible thereafter.This post is available on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered. Interviews will be on 23rd or 24th May 2024.
