Job Offer: Research Technician:Job description:Job location: Manchester The appointee will join a young and growing research group led by Dr Nina Milosavljevic investigating visual influences on mood and affective state. Working with nocturnal laboratory mice and diurnal rodentRhabdomys pumilio, we aim to understand the biological mechanisms underlying light impact on mood and affective state. Using state-of-the-art technologies for studying rodent brain activity and behavior we aim to establish the key visual stimuli that modulate the activity of the mood brain centers and determine the behavioral impact of this visual modulation as well as identify neuronal circuits involved. The appointee needs to have essential skills and skills to independently perform i) electrophysiological recordings of mood centers while presenting carefully calibrated visual stimuli in rodents, ii) brain injections for neuronal circuits tracing, iii) immunohistochemistry as well as to be responsible for the general laboratory facilities. prosperous candidates may be subject to pre-employment screening carried out on our behalf by a third party.
