Job Opportunity: Research Technician (Bioinformatics):Job description:Job location: Exeter Faculty of Health and Life Sciences The above full-time post is available, on a fixed term basis, from May 2024 to November 1st 2024 with the possibility of extension in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. The post will be located in the Biosciences Department, Geoffrey Pope Building, Streatham Campus. The post Dr. Rhys Farrer wishes to recruit a Graduate Research adjunct to support his work on genomics, transcriptomics and epigenomics of fungal pathogens. This Wellcome funded post is available from May 2024 to November 1st 2024 with the prospect of an extension. The prosperous applicant will be responsible for superviseing one or more bioinformatic-centric projects on a fungal pathogen, including research into Cryptococcus, Candida and/or Chytrids. They will also be responsible for superviseing a bioinformatic-centric project on a fungal pathogen, including research into genomics, transcriptomics and epigenomics. About you The prosperous applicant will be able to present information on research progress and results, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies. candidates will be educated to first degree level or possess an equivalent qualification/practice in a related field of study or equivalent practice and be able to demonstrate sufficient expertise in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. candidates will be able to demonstrate a availability to focus on bioinformatic techniques.
