Do you have a professional, positive, approachable, customer focused attitude? We have a great opportunity in the Engineering and Maintenance Team for someone with a passion for electrical maintenance who is looking to make a difference in the University, by helping to maintain its buildings to a world class standard.
You will specialise in electrical maintenance, focusing on commercial and industrial installations and maintenance procedures, but with expertise of domestic installation practices and the flexibility to support other members of our maintenance team being an advantage. You will also be required to carry out pre-programmed inspections of electrical installations and any connected remedial works.
You will be a suitably qualified electrician with practice of electrical installation, maintenance and repairs, i.e. C&G 2365 Levels 2 & 3 & C&G 2392. A technical expertise of current electrical best practice techniques is essential, as is the capability to work as part of a team or alone. You will be able to follow instructions but also use your own initiative as required.
The majority of work is of a physical nature and as such requires manual handling and the capability to carry tools and equipment across campus. The capability to ascend and descend ladders and to utilise access equipment when required with the dexterity to undertake a range of electrical work tasks to ensure a good standard of works is also essential.
We're one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University's Total compensate Package includes a competitive income, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student practice.
