Job Opportunity: Professor of Biomedical Engineering - UOD1445:Job description:Job location: Dundee The School of Science & Engineering (SSEN) at the University of Dundee delivers research and education across a range of STEM disciplines. Our mission is to be globally renowned for the development of innovation and technology that will deliver a more equitable, inclusive and sustainable future. Biomedical Engineering is committed to delivering the next generation of medical diagnostic and treatment technologies and protocols. We offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees including co-delivery of a large Joint Educational Programme in Biomedical Engineering with North-Eastern University, China. Research in Biomedical Engineering is focussed through the Centre for Medical Engineering & Technology (CMET). CMET is a joint initiative between the Schools of Science & Engineering, and Medicine. It brings together anatomists, clinicians, engineers, physicists, and surgeons to develop world-leading research and expertise exchange. The Professor of Biomedical Engineering will be a key appointment for the School, providing strategic leadership abilities for the discipline. This Chair will take the function of Head of Discipline (three years in the first instance). They will be expected to further strengthen and expand collaboration between Biomedical Engineering and key clinical partners in NHS Tayside and in the School of Medicine. Heads of Discipline in SSEN work alongside the School Executive Group to form the Senior Management Group for the School.
