ABOUT THE function
The UCL Centre for Holocaust Education is a world class, research-informed centre of educational excellence. It supports teachers through high quality professional development to ensure that every school student develops significant knowledge and knowledge of the Holocaust and is able to reflect on its contemporary significance. The Centre is looking to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching) in Holocaust Education.
The postholder will contribute to the delivery of the Centre's national programme of research-informed professional development for teachers. You will support the continuing reconfiguration of its existing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme, and actively contribute to the development of new educational initiatives. In addition, you will actively contribute to the interface between research and education ensuring Centre programmes have evidence-located impact.
Due to the nature of the tasks, a DBS check will be required.
ABOUT YOU
The prosperous candidate will have Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching or equivalent educational qualification and have a good historical knowledge and knowledge of the Holocaust. You will have broad knowledge and knowledge of Holocaust education and have practice of teaching in secondary education settings. In addition, you will have broad knowledge of the current educational landscape in England and consciousness of contemporary issues and contexts in school settings, and have practice of developing CPD for teachers, including connected resources where necessary and appropriate.
