About the function
Due to expanding student numbers, We are seeking for a Teacher of Science to join our team here at Leeds Sixth Form College.
Teaching across our Sixth Form provision of level 2 and level 3 learners, you will be carrying out the Sixth Form's vision to pioneer our STEM provision for students across West Yorkshire. This will include teaching across our GCSE, BTEC and Access Courses as well as transitioning to the new T-Level syllabus in the new academic year. We welcome applications from all Science specialisms, in our BTEC and GCSE provision teachers teach across the Science subject areas.
Whatever your scientific specialism, you will be welcomed into the department and Leeds Sixth Form College community.

What You Will Do
   » Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
   » Deliver and assess essential knowledge and knowledge to learners.
   » Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their expertise to enable progression.

   » Develop and strengthen relationships with learners and provide support to ensure prosperous results
   » Use and promote restorative practice approaches
About You
   » Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (eg. Cert Ed, PGCE)
   » significant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject
   » significant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector
   » practice of setting appropriate SMART targets to ensure progression of learners
   » Knowledge of current teaching practices and practice of utilising a range of teaching practices to enhance the learning journey and learner progression
   » capability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their optimum
