Job Opportunity: Admissions Business Systems Manager:Job description:Job location: Colchester We are seeking to appoint an individual to the position of Admissions Business Systems Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a varied, team-located function within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The function is in the Admissions team, part of the University's Communications and External Relations section. Communications and External Relations brings together the main areas involved in leading the University's student recruitment as well as strategic positioning and profile. Engaging with students, staff and stakeholders we promote the University's excellence in research and education, and ensure its profile is communicated in a consistent way. We take an innovative and creative approach to our work and are at the forefront of new and best practice in communications, recruitment and marketing, engagement and customer service. tasks of the function The primary focus of the team is to deliver a positive practice to candidates during the admissions process. The prosperous candidate will be part of the senior team responsible for the management of the Admissions team, ensuring the provision of a fair and consistent admissions service. You will participate in reviews of business processes and service delivery to help improve the applicant practice, as well as ensuring the team's technical systems are robust and effective in this competitive digital environment. The post holder will support the delivery of high-level customer service, in line with the University's commitment to provide a strong and positive applicant practice, by working with colleagues to improve the efficiency of Admissions systems and processes. A full list of tasks and responsibilities can be found within the attached job pack. expertise and qualifications required You will be a highly organised individual who has excellent written and oral communication expertise; in addition, you will have the capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritising effectively in order to meet deadlines whilst giving close attention to detail. You will also have an capability to acquire knowledge and knowledge of detailed policies and procedures, and be able to interpret and apply them accurately. You should also hold a bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) or significant professional practice. Although practice and knowledge of admissions in the HE sector would be an advantage, it is not an essential requirement as full training and induction will be provided. Additionally, training will be provided for candidates without SQL practice. This is a fixed-term, full-time post until 31 May 2026 to provide temporary cover for staff absence.
