Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an EAP professional with a keen interest in a career in EAP for STEMM (science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine). You will bring competence in teaching, assessment and providing targeted and constructive feedback to students using a multimodal approach. Being able to teach effectively on the Centre's in-sessional and pre-sessional EAP for STEMM programmes and being highly motivated to realise the potential of technology in education in our context are vital to the success of this function.
tasks and responsibilities
You will be joining a friendly, inclusive, collaborative team, and participate in partnerships with academic and other service departments and students as appropriate. The Centre's team believe in, and are committed to, delivering the highest quality of academic language and literacy provision to support the research output and teaching of STEMM subjects at Imperial College London. You will contribute to the Centre's sustainable development of flexible, targeted and engaging on-campus and online learning provision as we deliver on the University's Strategy.
Essential requirements
candidates should possess a completed postgraduate qualification in Applied Linguistics/TESOL/EAP or other significant area and/or a recognized and completed ELT/EAP teaching qualification (DELTA/PGCE TESOL or equivalent). Recent practice in any of the following areas is desirable: developing EAP learning provision including online; delivering EAP content through Microsoft 365 applications; working with STEMM students; developing and assessing students' oral academic communication expertise.
