About the function
A Postdoctoral Research adjunct is being recruited to work with Dr Thomas Haworth on the impact of star forming environment on planet formation. The goal will be to build on the work of Qiao et al. (2022) and Wilhelm et al. (2023) to study protoplanetary disk evolution/planet formation in star formation and feedback simulations for different star formation scenarios.
This position is part of the ERC consolidator grant of Dr Thomas Haworth (funded by UKRI guarantee funding). The team will maintain around 3 postdocs and 2 PhD students, with flexibility to work together and with others in the department to generate new ideas. The department includes four other academics working on exoplanet science and planet formation.
The post is located at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 3 years, with a start date negotiable, but ideally commencing autumn 2024.
About You
Candidates should have a PhD in a significant discipline or will have obtained it by commencement of the position. prosperous candidates will ideally have a background in research in star formation and feedback simulations and/or protoplanetary disk/planet formation modelling.

The School of Physical and Chemical Sciences consists of the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Chemistry. It is one of five schools in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
