Are you an excellent communicator and administrator, who is able to plan proactively, yet can be adaptable and think on their feet as/when needed? If so we would welcome your application for the function of Administrative Co-ordinator (Governance). The University has refreshed key functions within the newly created Directorate of Governance and Assurance, making this an exciting time to join Kent.

In this function you will be part of a team which delivers the day-to-day secretariat services required to support the University's academic and corporate governance committees. You will be key to the University's governance secretariat function and will provide professional skills and support to the adjunct Director (Governance) and the Head of Secretariat in a range of areas, particularly focusing on those matters relating to providing professional secretariat services and project support for the governance structure of Council, Senate and their boards and subcommittees.
As Administrative Co-ordinator (Governance) you will:
   » Research, draft and support the consultation process on policies, reports, and processes necessary to ensure the effective and legally compliant operation of all University governance operations
   » Manage the Directorate internal and external communications channels and will be first point of contact for a range of stakeholders
   » Support a range of University committees to ensure that these have effective and efficient secretarial support
   » Assist in planning of the annual programme of work for each of the committees, drafting the overarching committee schedule and connected agenda planners
To be prosperous in this function you will have/be:
   » practice of working within the higher education (or related) sector
   » Proven practice of providing effective administrative support a large and complex organisation
   » Demonstrable practice of servicing and supporting high-level committees
   » Excellent organisational and administrative skills and the capability to use initiative and effectively organise own workload to balance competing priorities
