Job Opportunity: Community Engagement Manager:Job description:Job location: Exeter This part time (0.5FTE) post is available immediately on a fixed term basis for 1 year. Summary of the function The University is seeking a Community Engagement Manager (CEM) who will take forward the Communities Engagement for a major research initiative in the University, the Wellcome-funded Translational Research Exchange (TREE).TREE brings together scientists from quantitative disciplines including to enable breakthroughs in biomedical and clinical research. The Centre is supported by the Wellcome Trust through an Institutional Strategic Support Fund to the University. In this function you will act as a champion, and initial point of contact, for engagement with the public and significant communities. You will develop and strengthen links with significant individuals, communities and groups who have an interest in engaging with and shaping new research opportunities and will also lead on the organisation of significant workshops, seminars and events supporting our activities. We are seeking for someone who has practice of public engagement and a desire to apply this within the biomedical remit. You will have an knowledge of the different ways in which communities can be involved in engaged research and will have the capability to develop and support networks, producing long term partnerships with both researchers and public groups. this function offers the opportunity for hybrid working with the expectation that the function holder would come into the office on campus an average 1 or 2 days a week.
