Job Offer: IT Infrastructure Engineer (Servers):Job description:Job location: Buckingham Contract: 12 months FTC The University of Buckingham is the UK's only independent university with a Royal Charter. Having led the National Student Survey rankings for the last 13 years, Buckingham continues to place great emphasis on the welfare and development of its 3,000 or so students. We are pursuing to appoint a talented and committed IT Services Infrastructure Engineer (Servers) to execute a key function in running our Server infrastructure. You will be involved with a variety of server/cloud development and support and you will be given many opportunities to get involved with a range of IT work. Candidates must have excellent customer service and quality management expertise, equipped with the passion, resources and commercial insight to help achieve them. You will be working with a wide variety of technologies as part of a friendly and dedicated team, in a great environment. The function » Ensuring the availcapability, integrity and performance of IT infrastructure, (as part of the T.I.T but predominantly server side). » Pro-actively review the IT infrastructure (predominantly server side) to identify areas for improvement » Create and maintain documentation of IT infrastructure (predominantly server side) including systems configuration, processes, test and project plans » Working with the rest of the IT Services Team to resolve escalated issues » To participate in Third Line projects as and when required. Candidates should have a good knowledge mixture of the expertise below and knowledge of all of them » MS Windows client, MS Server, Exchange 2016 and Exchange Online, VMWare, Physical servers and related hardware (UPS's, KVMs etc), Microsoft Remote Desktop Services » SAN/NAS storage, Microsoft Active Directory/Azure Active Directory, Group Policy Management, System Centre (SCCM), Backup and DR Solutions, PowerShell scripting » And Azure and Office 365 Informal enquiries may be made to Martyn Smith by email:martyn.smith@buckingham.ac.uk.
