Job Opportunity: Business Analyst:Job description:Job location: Falmer Contract : Fixed Term for two years We are seeking for an enthusiastic and practiced data focussed Business Analyst to work on key university projects, such as the HESA Data Futures project, but may extend to other project areas as required. Your main responsibilities will include: » Definition of the detailed scope and data outputs of the HESA Data Futures (HDF) return » Analysing existing University systems, interfaces and data alongside the HDF data model to produce a gap analysis of what additional data will need to be captured » Producing requirements specifications for changes to bespoke systems and processes to capture this additional data and process changes. » Working with business stakeholders to understand their existing As Is processes and defining and agreeing any To Be process changes required to ensure that data is collected at correct points for in-year reporting to HESA. » Any other Business Analysis activities to support this project or other projects and/or change initiatives as required. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, self-motivated individual who enjoys working independently and can also play a key function in team cross functional working. As an practiced Business Analyst you will be able to understand and assess the best approach to providing the optimal analysis outputs in order to provide clarity to stakeholders and drive the project forward. You will have excellent analytical expertise with the capability to understand complex systems, processes and organisational structures. You will enjoy working with and analysing data and will have practice working with relational databases to query and extract data. The capability to use Oracle SQL and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel would be desirable. You will have an knowledge of technical principles and be able to work closely with the Applications and Testing teams to ensure that business requirements are met. In addition, you will have strong expertise as an effective communicator and will be able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with our business stakeholders. You will have demonstrable practice in the use of the Business Analysis toolkit and methodology alongside the practical application of theoretical analysis techniques.
