Job Offer: Head of Languages:Job description:Job location: Bath We are pursuing a hard-working, highly motivated and dedicated individual to guide the languages provision at the University of Bath (Skills Centre). This is a strategic function, leading and managing a team of practiced linguists, and Assume the responsibility the delivery of a pedagogically robust, inclusive and significant languages provision, which understands and meets students' needs. About the function: You will provide expert and strategic leadership abilities to ensure that the language provision is accessible and diverse. You will be responsible for the relevancy of the programmes, so that all students have the opportunity to gain the necessary transferable employcapability, digital and intercultural skills to make them competitive in the global job market. This will include supporting international students in their English language development, which will contribute to their academic success and beyond. You will provide professional leadership abilities to the language team, which includes Course Leaders and Teaching Fellows, and will play an important function in the Skills Centre Management Team. You will also represent your service in the University, and possibly outside it, searching opportunities to work collaboratively with the service's stakeholders. About you: Your background is likely to be in higher education, ideally in a University Language Centre. You have a degree in a significant subject area, a language teaching qualification and a management qualification. You have broad practice in leading and managing teams, preferably in Higher Education, outstanding organisational and time management skills. You work well under pressure in a complex, multi-national and culturally diverse environment. You demonstrate excellent capability in leading and managing change, have outstanding collaboration skills and networking skills, and you are flexible and focused. You have a passion for learning and are keeping professionally up to date with developments in your area of work and skills.
