This senior postdoctoral position is for a researcher to work within the Centre for Evidence-located Agriculture on a series of funded evidence synthesis projects and the wider research programme, primarily in the field of sustainable agri-food and land management. The researcher will be expected to take a mid-level function within projects and to also work on writing grant applications and papers alongside project tasks. A key part of the function will be to help build an evidence-located agriculture network. The prosperous applicant will be highly adaptable, self-motivated, passionate about developing high quality research, with strong attention to detail and quality. This is for a fixed-term contract of 32 months at 0.5 FTE but there may be scope for extension, subject to funding.
The main tasks of the function include:
   » Carrying out evidence synthesis and other research project tasks following, adapting and writing methodologies where necessary (in collaboration with project manager and principal PDRA) and supporting junior team members where necessary
   » Collaborating with internal and external academic staff and policy colleagues on areas of shared research interests. This may include, dealing with queries, and establishing new links.
   » Keep up to date with significant research methods, in particular with developments in expertise synthesis methodologies.
   » Supporting project manager with project and wider CEBA tasks where necessary. This may involve liaising with other team members, academic experts and wider stakeholders on evidence synthesis projects, but may also involve related research tasks such as working on new grant applications, on paper writing, and on wider dissemination activities as outlined below.
   » Preparation and/or input into project reports, academic journal papers and other forms of dissemination as required (eg infographics/oral presentations/media outputs)
   » All other tasks and responsibilities commensurate with the post and the income range of the grade.
