The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer (part-time, 4 days per week) to join the School of Psychology and Therapeutic Studies. The prosperous applicant will teach primarily at postgraduate level with some support being provided at undergraduate level, and will: Contribute to the teaching of counselling and psychotherapy theory, expertise, and reflective practice.
   » Have an academic area of responsibility within the Therapeutic Studies department e.g. course leadership abilities.
   » Lead modules on courses as required.
   » Support and supervise research students at master's level and if appropriately qualified, Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and/or PhD students.
   » Engage in research, scholarly activity and/ or external training.

You will be professionally registered and/or accredited by the BACP or equivalent counselling or psychotherapy professional body. practice of teaching in Higher Education is preferred. Interest in developing a research profile is a strong advantage.
The course is located at our light and modern Newport City Centre Campus, which has excellent public transport links. Students benefit from placements in our in-house counselling services and a purposebuilt counselling clinic, as well as a strong range of placement partners and agencies across Wales and beyond.
This is a part time (0.8 FTE, four days per week), permanent post. This position is located at the Newport Campus of the University of South Wales.
