About You

We seek enthusiastic, practiced individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our Medical School postgraduate team for the delivery of our prosperous MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) programme. You will have a minimum of a higher degree in advanced practice/advanced clinical practice and broad recent practice in higher education and/or clinical practice. You must be registered with a professional statutory regulatory body and have a commitment to applying/or have applied to the Health Education England Directory for Advanced Clinical Practitioners. We encourage applications from practiced advanced clinical practitioners working in practice who wish to transition into HE as well as academics with skills in this subject area. We have a flexible approach to working and we welcome applications from individuals who wish to work part-time in clinical practice as well as part-time in academia to maintain clinical currency.

candidates with an academic background should have practice in programme leadership abilities, development, delivery, quality assurance and enhancement in postgraduate advanced clinical practice and in supporting workplace-located learning and assessment. candidates working in an advanced clinical practice function in practice should have broad practice in workplace-located teaching, learning, assessment and supporting students through their ACP journey.

You will enrich our student practice through your skills and subject expertise. Our research profile is expanding, and our staff are required to engage in this activity with mentorship support, as appropriate, from our research theme leaders.

About the function

This post is to support the expansion and development of Edge Hill University's Medical School. Our students are from a diverse range of professional backgrounds. You will further enhance and grow our rapidly expanding multi-professional MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programmes (direct entry and apprentices) and join a growing team of ACP colleagues from a variety of healthcare professions. A qualification in non-medical prescribing is desirable although not essential. You will be expected to teach, assess and engage in student support for all core modules in our MSc Advanced Practice and must be able to supervise dissertation/advanced practice projects. Additionally, you will be expected to develop and deliver modules in your sphere of clinical skills. Evidence of a strong or developing research profile is essential for this function. Mentorship is provided.

Providing a high-quality student practice is our primary aim and you will support with effective learning, teaching and assessment strategies that are embedded in current, evidence-located practice, supporting students to achieve their full potential and preparing them for their professional career.
