We are pursuing a strong leader with excellent communication, collaboration and influencing expertise to lead ESRC's new Productivity and Growth Team. You will be developing and delivering an outstanding portfolio of research on productivity, innovation, and growth.
ESRC is the UK's largest organisation for funding research in the social sciences. We support independent, high quality research which has an impact on the public sector, business, and civil society.
You will build a new team that develops, commissions, and leads all aspects of ESRC's high profile research investments in economics, productivity, growth, innovation, and technology. You will work across the different social science disciplines that cover these fields and engage and influence key partners in government and business.
You will deliver and manage our £42m Productivity Institute Programme, supporting The Productivity Institute (TPI) at the University of Manchester; the Programme on Innovation and Diffusion (POID) at the London School of Economics (LSE); and thematic research investments on different aspects of productivity. You will build strong links with academic, policy, and business communities to catalyse research ideas and drive forward their subsequent development and delivery.
To succeed in this function, you will have:
   » A degree or equivalent significant practice
   » expertise of the landscape of social science research in productivity, growth and the social science of innovation-or a demonstrable capability to acquire this rapidly
   » Strong track record of project and programme management
   » Excellent collaboration and influencing practice, including building a diverse network of key contacts and potential partner organisations
   » practice working and delivering in a fast-paced research or research funding environment
   » Excellent numeracy expertise, with practice of handling budgets and exercising financial control
