Wrexham Glyndwr University is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and practiced individual to contribute to the expanding provision within the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Social Work team which forms a key part of the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences which is a thriving teaching and research environment that is looking to build on its undergraduate and postgraduate student population.
The social work department prides itself on a student-centred practice focus and we are currently 1stin Wales for satisfaction of teaching (The Guardian University Guide 2022). The tutor team aim to generate social work graduate practitioners who are fit for contemporary social work practice. Therefore We are seeking to appoint a principled, committed and enthusiastic individual to develop and contribute to the provision of high quality teaching and research in Social Work.
The BA (Hons) Social Work Qualifying Programme is delivered in partnership with Local Authority partners, social work agencies and service user groups. It integrates professional training in social work with academic study to degree level. The prosperous applicant will work with the Programme Team, Partner Agencies, Outside In (the focus group of individuals who use services) and other stakeholders. As such the prosperous post holder must enjoy being part of a cohesive team where you will have a contributory function across the subject area, and wider faculty including being actively engaged as a personal tutor and supporting students whilst on placement.
We are seeking for a person to join the team who is a qualified and registered Social Worker. We would welcome applications from individuals from a practice background looking to move into an academic function. Welsh language expertise are particularly desirable for this function. There is scope for career progression to senior lecturer grading and development opportunities including a teaching qualification, leading to fellowship status with Advance HE.
All candidates invited to interview will be expected to make a short presentation to the panel, located on a significant subject to the function.
