Offer: Finance Manager:Job description:Job location: Hertfordshire Main tasks and Responsibilities The Finance Manager will play a key function supporting all aspects of Finance for the School of Life and Medical Sciences to provide accurate and timely management information to the Dean and School Senior team. You will support Business Planning, decision making and financial control, and reporting to external stakeholders. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager but located within the School and operating as part of the School's senior team, the function is vital in managing the competing claims for resource and providing robust financial planning for the schools activities. You will play a significant part in the Annual Planning process preparing budgets and subsequently forecasts on a quarterly basis. In addition, you will prepare and review monthly and annual management accounts for Budget Holders/Deans, querying and providing explanations for variances against budget/forecast and escalating issues to the Centre with recommendations for action. You will also take the Finance lead in the School Management meetings. You will also provide support on costing and pricing decisions ensuring financial vicapability of new courses, partnerships and projects and have responsibility for managing one member of staff. expertise and practice needed You will be a fully qualified accountant and an practiced finance professional with excellent IT expertise, particularly Excel, and with practice of preparing budgets and forecasts. You will have excellent analytical expertise and a proven aptitude for team working as well as being a self-starter with strong organisational, interpersonal and communication expertise. Qualifications Required It is essential that you have a professional accounting qualification (CCAB).
