Description
Wales ESRC DTP Environmental Planning Pathway:
Collaborative PhD Studentship
Identifying and communicating optimal grazing choices for sustainable livestock farming.
The project aims to identify optimal grazing management and advance best practice in communicating complex science on soil health and sustaincapability and investigate how to communicate these results and translate them into behaviour change. Collaboration with farmer partners interested in improving the sustaincapability of their farms, Cynidr Consulting and Natural Resources Wales means the project will remain focussed on covering a key concern of the farming sector. The project will examine whether grazing regime and intensity lead to differences in soil biology and carbon stocks, how farmers perceive the impacts of grazing choices on soil health and carbon stocks, and best communication approaches to elicit change.
