The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education is looking to appoint an Hourly Paid Tutor to assist the Post Compulsory Education (PcET) team within the School of Education, Early Years and Youth Work.
The PcET team are an established team with a wealth of practice and skills across the wider post compulsory and higher education sector and these functions present an exciting opportunity to play a key function in shaping the future of the learning and teaching provision going forward.
The PcET portfolio is diverse and includes teacher education and training development programmes aligned to the needs of the sector, specifically Further Education (FE). The PcET team are currently developing a suite of Additional Learning Needs / Learning Support qualifications that are specific to the FE sector.
You will work alongside the PcET team to support the development (at course and module level) and bring current and significant expertise, skills and practice of Learning Support provision with a specific FE focus.
The course is currently in development and due for validation in Spring 2022 with a start date of September 2022. You will work closely with the PcET team and colleagues across FE institutions in Wales to co-construct the programme and develop the learning and teaching materials and assessment that underpin the course.
The post holder will have a minimum of an undergraduate qualification within the field of FE and/or Learning Support, with recent and significant practice of working in the UK FE sector. The post holder will be able to offer specialist academic and/or professional skills in learning, teaching and supporting action research. practice in leading and developing modules and courses at FE level would be advantageous. practice of having taught through a blended learning approach and the use of technology enhanced learning would also be an advantage.
