Are you keen to work with researchers, business and Government to help support excellent research that delivers real impact for the economy and society? We are seeking for Research Portfolio Managers to join the Partnerships Directorate in EPSRC to assist with development and delivery of ideas for future activities and to build relationships with stakeholders within universities and industry to ensure we fund research of the highest quality to implement new, innovative research programmes. Portfolio managers play a key function in managing our funding competitions. We are located in Swindon and are currently hybrid working. About the function As an EPSRC Portfolio Manager, you will work with the engineering and physical sciences research community to achieve EPSRC's aim to put the UK at the forefront of International Research. You will be responsible a portfolio of activities within the Business Engagement, University Relationships or EDI & People Team. Your function will be varied and will include building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, managing our decision-making and supporting our policy development activities to ensure we fund research of the upmost excellence and planning and organizing community events to support our strategy development and its effective implementation. You will help to develop ideas for future activities in a strongly team-located organisation as well as working with other Government Departments and other Councils within UKRI. this function will broaden your expertise by giving you the opportunity to manage your own projects and activities. Interaction with stakeholders especially in universities is important part of the function. About you We will consider high calibre graduates and postgraduates (and those with equivalent practice) who can demonstrate the potential to succeed, ideally with practice in a science or engineering related field or holding a PhD. You are likely to have a STEM background and will have a keen interest in the engineering and physical sciences. The most important aspect is that you are a creative thinker, a strong team player, an excellent communicator and manage your time effectively. About Us EPSRC is a partner organisation within UKRI.
