Job Opportunity: Teacher of English:Job description:Job location: Bedford We have a great opportunity located at our Bedford Sixth Form campus for a Teacher of English to become a key member of our Bedford Sixth Form Teaching department. As a Lecturer in English, you will play a pivotal function in the success of our students through: » Helping students develop their expertise and reach their maximum potential through the delivery of courses and contributing to the development of Sixth Form curriculum and student practice. » Undertaking an agreed teaching commitment that develops students' knowledge, expertise and knowledge. » Enthusing, engaging and motivating students to lgain and foster their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. » Planning, preparing and delivering a range of lessons maintaining a high quality learning environment. Our ideal candidates will have current practice of teaching A Level English (preferably including AL English Language) and practice of teaching in a Sixth Form or FE College environment with students 16 - 18 year olds, alongside the following qualifications: » Degree in a significant subject » Certificate in Education or equivalent in line with the Statutory Instrument » English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent Lecturers / Teachers No Teaching Qualification? Contract Type - i.e. Bedford College / Bedford College Services / Bedford College Professional Services Ltd (BCPS Ltd) 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) / 52 weeks per year 466.2 hours holiday per annum income and benefits will vary for offers where enrolment on the L5 Teaching Apprenticeship is required. An Enhanced DBS check will be required and you will be required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, which would not be filtered in line with current guidance.
