Job description
The Office for Student Complaints, Appeals and Regulations (OSCAR) is delighted to offer an excellent opportunity for a professional seeking to develop their career in a higher education environment. The function requires an individual who is committed to providing high-quality support to staff and students, is adept at developing and managing university regulations and procedures, and is capable of dealing with a demanding workflow.

The UKVI Compliance agent supervises a wide variety of tasks and works in close collaboration with a number of colleagues across the University who undertake compliance-related functions. The prosperous candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the University's policies and procedures enable the institution to comply with its Home Office student sponsor obligations. Through collaboration with University colleagues, the postholder will ensure that a robust, joined-up approach to UKVI compliance is adopted across the institution. The postholder will be the institutional expert regarding all matters pertaining to UKVI compliance.

The portfolio of work undertaken by OSCAR is both challenging and compensateing and offers team members the opportunity to make a real impact. The portfolio includes:
   » Academic Appeals
   » Exceptional Circumstances claims
   » Student Complaints (including liaison with the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education)
   » Student Discipline
   » Student Immigration Compliance (UKVI)
The UKVI Compliance agent will report to the Head of OSCAR. Key working relationships include the Director for the Student practice, Associate Director for Student Engagement (Student practice), the General Counsel/Director of Governance and Compliance (Student Visa Authorising agent), the Student Systems and Records Office, International Student Advisors, Heads of Professional Services and School staff.
