We are pursuing an practiced and inspiring Senior Research Fellow in Dementia Studies to be a key player in the Association of Dementia Studies and contribute to research across the wider School of Allied Health and Community. The post is offered full-time but part-time candidates will be considered. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have a track record in research in later stages of dementia, complex diagnoses, family care, distress behaviours, frailty, care homes and hospital care.
We want to hear from individuals who can work independently to develop research objectives and proposals. Most of our research is collaborative, but the post holder should be able to plan, co-ordinate and implement complex research programmes. It is expected that the post holder will disseminate research results through multiple channels including peer reviewed publications, refereed conferences, and social media.
The Association for Dementia Studies has a strong expertise Exchange focus, and it is expected that the postholder will develop teaching materials and materials for practice within their field of research skills, teach at post-graduate level and undertake PhD supervision (if the postholder has a PhD). This also may include module leadership abilities within the fully online Post Graduate Certificate in Person Centred Dementia Studies.
It is expected that the prosperous candidate will have responsibility for the acquisition of research contracts and for the acquisition of funding for future research projects, as appropriate to their discipline.We want to attract candidates who will contribute to the university fully and this may include participation in School and University Committees.
This post exemplifies the University's strategic development of a strong network of partnerships with those directly engaged in providing care and support to people, families and communities affected by dementia. The post-holder will be expected to foster these relationships.
