At the University of Chester, we are developing our Student Services to ensure we offer outstanding student support as part of our new institutional Citizen Student Strategy.
We are committed to offering robust wellbeing and mental health support to our students. As part of this, we are excited to offer the opportunity to apply for the new post of Mental Health Team Leader to operationally manage our busy team of Mental Health Advisers ensuring we maintain our excellent service delivery.
Mental Health Advisers work closely with students experiencing complex mental health concerns, including those in immediate crisis and engaging in risk behaviours. In addition to the day to day management of the mental health adviser team you will also manage your own caseload of students and coordinate our duty rota for on-the-day emergency appointments.
You will be educated to Degree level as a minimum and possess a significant professional qualification and registration in the field of mental health (e.g. RMN, Social Work, OT etc). You will have at least 3 years, post registration practice of working in a mental health setting utilising your professional qualifications. Significant practice of line managing a busy team and effective decision making and problem-solving expertise are also essential requirements for this function.
