The Faculty of Social and Life Sciences is a thriving teaching and research environment looking to build its undergraduate and postgraduate student population. North Wales Business School (NWBS) forms a key part of the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences.
The post holder will be expected to deliver within a wide variety of programmes within NWBS and the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences with a particular focus on Industry and Executive training and development, working within the Business School and alongside our Enterprise Department as appropriate. Drawing on theory and research as well as practice located insights into the commercial world, the function holder will enable students to understand and critique the key areas involved in contemporary business thereby enabling development into valued employees and managers of the future. Teaching may include variety of core business modules on undergraduate and postgraduate Business Studies and Management programmes including business, law, marketing and management.
The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the development of contemporary business programs and modules at WGU, working collaboratively, flexibly and collegially within a team and will demonstrate innovation through the design of the curriculum informed by research and relationships with external partners from significant sectors.
The post holder will have a Masters Level Qualification, hold professional accreditation where significant and be committed to further professional and academic development in order to continually improve the curriculum offer. A teaching qualification significant to Higher Education will be held, or commitment to achieving one will be required. To possess a doctoral qualification would be an advantage or a availability to work towards is essential.
The commitment to developing innovative teaching practice such as online and blended approaches to learning and engaging with industry and transnational education opportunities is required. Prior teaching/training practice is preferable.
Possessing a PhD or currently working towards is essential for this post.
The capability to speak and offer academic and pastoral support through the medium of Welsh would be highly valuable.
