Student Support agent (Hayes/Uxbridge):Job description:Job location: Hayes, Uxbridge 36 hours per week, term time only Student Support is a key service area in the College offering non-academic support and advice to students. This could include help with housing, benefits, health and well-being, relationship difficulties and any other problem that affects students' learning. We wish to appoint a Support agent who will work directly with young people in an informal and supportive capacity. This post plays a vital and central part in supporting the management of students' positive behaviour within the College. You will work directly with our ?at risk' students to provide extra support to help those students stay on track and complete their qualification. The post holder will be located in the Student Support team and will also contribute to wider tasks, such as assisting in coordinating the Learner Voice, one to one support, help with enrolment and to provide appropriate financial and welfare support for students. The prosperous candidate should have practice of working with young people in an informal and supportive capacity, together with practice of working within an educational environment and practice of working with young people with challenging/poor behaviour. You should be able to motivate and positively influence young people, demonstrate sound judgement and integrity and be able to work on your own initiative. You should also be a good team player and have a strong knowledge and commitment to Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding. The College has recently introduced a Working in the house policy. You may be able to work a proportion of your work time in the house. Working in the house may be possible where this does not adversely impact on the operational needs of the College.
