Offer: Research Associate:Job description:Job location: Cardiff A position is available for a postdoctoral researcher to conduct research on the relationship between genomic variation and treatment results in psychiatric disorders, with a particular emphasis on schizophrenia. The post will involve working on the schizophrenia genomics MRC programme grant as well as contributing to the ?REALMENT? project funded by the European Commision Horizon 2020 programme (ref. 964874). REALMENT seeks to use genomics and real-world data from electronic health records and biobanks to bring personalised medicine to psychiatry across Europe in a collaboration between the psychosis research theme group of Cardiff University, between 10 European Universities and 3 industry partners. The prosperous candidate will have a PhD (or be nearing completion) and/or post doctoral research practice in genomics (including , bioinformatics with genomics as a focus), computer or health data science, or equivalent industrial practice. Expert expertise of data manipulation in the UNIX/Linux environment and expertise of analytic techniques used in genomic or health data science studies is essential. practice in psychiatric data collection, curation and analyses of large-scale longitudinal datasets, and proficiency in the R statistical framework are desirable. This post is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term until 30th March 2024 and is available immediately. income: £34,304 - £40,927 per annum (Grade 6).
