The Wales Institute for Economic Research, Data & Methods (WISERD) is has been awarded £8m of funding from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and a further £4.6m of funding from its partner Universities to undertake a five year programme of policy significant research covering Civil Society, Civic Stratification and Civil repair in Wales, the UK and Internationally.

The WISERD research centre, located within Cardiff University School of Social Sciences, is looking to recruit a Research Associate to be part of an interdisciplinary research team on a work package entitled, ?Civil society, and placed located strategies for sustainable development'. The aim is to undertake regional policy studies in Wales, UK, and Europe within a comparative study of stakeholder and civil society organizational involvement in local economic developments located on the concept of the ?Foundational Economy'. To contribute to the overall research performance of the School and University, carrying out research leading to the publishing of work in high-quality research outputs. To pursue excellence in research and to inspire others to do the same.

The post will be located within WISERD (at Cardiff University) and will be line managed by Prof Ian Rees Jones in association with Dr David Beel (MMU), Professor Martin Jones (Staffordshire University) and Professor Kevin Morgan (Cardiff University)

This is a full time post, 35 hours per week, fixed term to 31st October 2023.
