This EU H2020 funded post is available full-time from 01/04/2022 (or as soon as possible thereafter) for a period of 24 months (with the possibility of an extension of a further 9 months depending on progress and funding).
The post
The College wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support the work of Prof C David Wright. The prosperous applicant will carry out research into the design, simulation, fabrication and testing of integrated phase-change photonic and electronic devices and systems for non-von Neumann photonic computing applications. The work will be carried out within the EU H2020 projects Fun-COMP (https://fun-comp.org) and PHOENICS (seehttps://phoenics-project.eu), and will involve collaborating with a range of EU partners including the University of Muenster, University of Oxford, IBM Zurich, EPFL, IMEC and others. The post will also involve providing written and verbal reports as required.
About you
The prosperous applicant will be able to present information on research progress and results, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically.
candidates will possess a significant PhD (or be in the process of submitting their PhD thesis) and will also be:
   » practiced and skilled at computational modelling of photonic or optoelectronic devices and/or systems, ideally including phase-change material-located devices and/or systems.
   » practiced and skilled at thin film deposition techniques, in particular RF and DC sputtering.
   » practiced and skilled at nanofabrication techniques, in particular including e-beam lithography or related techniques.
   » practiced and skilled at common methods of materials and electrical/optical device characterisation.
