Applications are invited for the post of Senior Information adjunct (Research Support) in the Library Services Department.
As a Senior Information adjunct within the Library's Research Support team, you will take a lead function in managing the records and files of College research publications including journal articles and conference papers. Key tasks of this function include the provision of a record checking service in preparation for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise, a government system for assessing the quality of research in Higher Education. The function will include regular communication with researchers, providing advice and support in order to meet research funder requirements for Open Access, which is an international initiative that seeks to make research publications available for anyone to read.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the College develops and implements a three year strategic plan which has challenge-led research as a key pillar. The Team will be involved in implementing services in response to changes in the external policy landscape including the new UKRI (UK Research and Innovation) Open Access policy.
You will have practice of data input with a strong attention to detail, consistency and quality. You will enjoy communicating with users, providing guidance and be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication expertise. Confidence to manage your workload will be essential alongside excellent team working expertise. A degree of flexibility and availability to lgain and contribute to team projects will be required.
practice in a research or library environment, Higher Education or educational publishing would be desirable; however, the transferable expertise outlined in the person specification are essential rather than previous practice. Full training will be provided on the specifics of the function including Open Access and research information systems.

This is a fixed term post to cover a period of maternity leave until February 2023. This appointment could end earlier than expected should the substantive post-holder return to work early.
