UG Admissions adjunct Manager:Job description:Job location: Durham The postholder will support the UG Admissions Management Team to manage the undergraduate and PGCE admissions processes, with a particular focus on PGCE admissions. Working in collaboration with the School of Education, the adjunct Manager will support the first year implementation of the new DfE Apply system, with particular consideration to applicant practice and the expectations of Ofsted. They will work collaboratively to ensure a professional, expertiseable, effective and efficient admissions service delivering the University's strategic aims and targets and ensuring that University and external regulations and policies are adhered to. Additionally, they will supervise permanent and temporary staff within the UG Admissions Team as required. This varied function requires the exercise of independent judgement and initiative, strong administrative and technical skills as well as excellent interpersonal and management skills. The function also involves providing information, advice and guidance and developing positive working relationships with other staff within the Recruitment and Admissions Office, School of Education and across the wider University, and beyond. A commitment to maximising personal and team effectiveness and the principles of equality and diversity is essential. A key part of this function will be supporting the transition to DfE Apply for PGCE, including acting as a non-technical subject matter expert in the development of processes, procedures and systems, including IT systems, to support PGCE admissions through this route. The postholder is expected to develop significant skills in the requirements of PGCE candidates, the School of Education, Ofsted, DfE and the University and to be able to share that skills with colleagues and stakeholders to contribute to the delivery of an excellent customer practice.
