WHAT WE DO
The ESOL department at Leeds City College is a grade 1 department. In 2020-21 there were over 3000 students with a team of 100, bringing education and life-changing practices to our ESOL students. The ESOL team are located predominantly at the Enfield Centre, and with 16-19 (sixth form) groups in North Street, and smaller provision at Beeston, Deacon House and some outreach centres. We are seeking to appoint two teaching adjuncts. One for Enfield LS7 and one for Deacon House LS14. The working pattern is academic weeks only, so would fit well with someone who might have childcare responsibilities and not available during the Leeds' school holiday periods. Working hours could be up to 25 per week and up to 37 weeks per year; dependent on student recruitment and prosperous applicant availcapability.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
   » Work with teachers to support individuals who have additional learning support needs.
   » Identify ALS students and create an assessment plan to support them.
   » Develop the essential knowledge and knowledge to support ESOL learners.
   » Support students to achieve their individual SMART learning targets.
   » Monitor students to develop their expertise to enable progression.
YOUR PROFILE
   » You should hold a L2 or L3 teaching adjunct Qualification.
   » You should have a good standard of spoken and written English.
   » You may have some practice supporting second language learners in Further Education.
   » You may have some practice working in EFL.
