Job Offer: Research Fellow in Star Formation:Job description:Job location: Leeds Fixed Term (3 years (temporary need)) Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have an established background in Star Formation? Do you want to further your career in one of the UKs leading research-intensive Universities? You will join the Astrophysics Group, working specifically with Professor Mark Thompson while he holds the post of Head of School. You will study the formation and evolution of massive stars across the Milky Way by exploiting a multi-wavelength ensemble of Galactic Plane Surveys and designing follow-on observational or theoretical studies. You will have a PhD in Astronomy or a closely related discipline and practice in the reduction or interpretation of astronomical data between far-infrared to radio-wavelengths. In addition to carrying out a research project determined in discussion with Prof Thompson, you will be an excellent communicator, responsible for day-to-day interactions with undergraduate and postgraduate students, and taking an active part in next generation single-dish or interferometric surveys. You will additionally undertake some teaching in the School of Physics and Astronomy.
