With the newly opened Centre for Student Life it is an exciting time to work within Cardiff University's Student Life Division. The Student Funding & Advice team is part of the Student Advice and Money service within the Student Life Division. We are pursuing to recruit an practiced adjunct Student Funding Adviser with a background in providing professional customer care to students and visitors with knowledge and practice in student finance and welfare advice.

The prosperous candidate will need to demonstrate the capability to provide accurate and confidential advice on statutory funding available to UK and EU students. This support may be in person, over the telephone and/or via e-mail. They will be expected to complete casework to a high standard as is appropriate to the client's needs and those of the institution. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining accurate case notes and statistical information as required.

To be prosperous you will have knowledge and knowledge of student funding systems and welfare services. You will be required to provide advice on undergraduate and postgraduate funding for Home and EU students both prospective and current (including Healthcare funding) and in conformity with the University's Widening Participation remit. Your tasks would include a range of matters including, but not limited to, advising students considering changing, suspending or leaving their course and the impact on their funding, fees and on the University process. You will be expected to keep up to date with all significant legislation relating to student finance and the University academic regulations, policies and procedures.

You will also be responsible for delivering talks, workshops and publications to students, the public and staff all over the University.

The post is part time, 17.5 hours per week, and is fixed term for 2 years.

We are able to be flexible around how the 17.5 hours per week will be structured and will negotiate this with the prosperous candidate.
