Applications are sought for a Biology Teaching Technician (BTT) to provide comprehensive technical support for practical teaching in the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences. You will assist in the preparation, setting-up and day-to-day running of practical classes in the fields of biological and biomedical sciences for students on our undergraduate degree programs.
Candidates must have a BSc degree in significant Biological or Biomedical Sciences field or broad work practice in a related laboratory technician function. Candidates should also have significant practice of working in a laboratory-located setting and/or of laboratory-located teaching in higher or further education with the capability to provide excellent technical support. You will be pro-active in maintaining a safe working environment but have a flexible approach, able to adjust working practices and protocols as circumstances dictate.
The School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences is a large but friendly School of c80 academic staff, 29 administrative staff and 26 technicians (teaching and research). We offer degrees in Biochemistry, Biology, Zoology, Medical Genetics. We also co-deliver programs in Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience, Pharmacology and Innovative Therapeutics with colleagues from the School of Medicine and Dentistry. All these degrees have a strong emphasis on the development of lab-located practical expertise which our Biology Teaching Technicians help to support.

The post is located at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full-time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date of March 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter. The income will be in Grade 3, in the range of £28,208 - £34,733 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
