The function
This is an exciting opportunity to join the research project ?Nuclear Spaces: Communities, Materialities and Locations of Nuclear Cultural Heritage (NuSPACES),? which is funded by the EU's Joint Programming Initiative for Cultural Heritage (JPICH) and is implemented by a consortium of universities in the UK, Sweden and Lithuania in 2021-2024 (https://www.heritageresearch-hub.eu/project/nuspaces/).
As Research Fellow, you will undertake literature reviews and analysis of secondary materials, documenting the presentation of nuclear pasts in museums and heritage sites in Western and Eastern Europe and globally. You will contribute to academic, professional and public outputs. You will participate in team activities including meetings and workshops, which will include external partners and members of significant stakeholders.
The Person
With a PhD in a significant discipline, you will ideally have specialised expertise of the history of nuclear power in the twentieth century and/or history of museums of science and technology and industrial heritage, and a demonstrable interest in both.
You must have proven research capability, be able to work effectively to meet deadlines (both independently and as part of a team) and possess excellent communication and ICT expertise. You will be expected to travel to undertake research at other institutions, as well as to attend project meetings, workshops and conferences in the UK and overseas.

This is a full time, 10-month fixed term contract with a starting income of £39,932 per annum. Part-time applications will be considered, but no less than 29.6 hours/0.8 FTE per week, income will be pro-rata accordingly.
