Job summary
Registry is at the heart of Academic activity at the University, supporting and facilitating students and staff to work effectively by sharing knowledge and providing valuable skills. The administration of teaching, learning, and assessment events enables academic endeavour while striving to improve the student practice. Registry is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal and external procedures, regulations and requirements, and is the definitive record-keeper of student information and programme details on behalf of the University.
The prosperous candidate will be resourceful, flexible and proactive, able to undertake a range of complex and varied tasks in support of the division's objectives. As a senior administrator you may be responsible for managing other staff or for supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge.
Main tasks
   » Manage and support teams within Registry and Registry processes to ensure delivery of an administration service that is compliant, accurate, and consistently meeting quality standards and customer service levels.
   » Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of University regulations, policies and procedures, to ensure your knowledge and correct application.
   » To be an expert user in University systems and processes and work across teams to develop strategies to improve the quality of student and curriculum data and to promote data quality consciousness to all areas.
   » You will be expected to use a variety of complex University systems and processes to research, analyse and interpret complex data, producing bespoke reports as required. This may include identifying and resolving issues with the data.
   » Maintain high profile working relationships with key stakeholders on your own initiative, fielding enquiries and ensuring that appropriate information is disseminated to stakeholders as appropriate.
   » To participate in working groups that focus on continuous improvement, particularly in the areas of data quality, business processes and service standards.
   » Review and audit curriculum and student data held within the section to ensure accuracy of information and reporting, both statutory and internal.
   » You will be expected to exercise your judgment on the answer to queries or on the direction of work within parameters set by your manager. On a day-to-day basis you will be expected to resolve more complex queries without necessarily referring to your manager.
   » Process more complex data (which may be student-related or other), monitoring accuracy, chasing up missing information, and resolving any issues as appropriate.
   » On occasion you will supervise the work of the team you are supporting, Assume the responsibility co-ordinating and prioritising the work of team members.
Person Specification
You will need to evidence:
   » practice of working in a similar function
   » GCSEs to a minimum of grade C in English and Mathematics (or equivalent qualifications)
   » A levels or an equivalent level 3 qualification, such as a Level 3 NVQ, or level 3 national diploma.
