Offer: Research Informatics SRF Coordinator:Job description:Job location: Oxford Division Medical Sciences Job location: Centre for Medicines Discovery, Biochemistry Building, South ParksRoad, Oxford OX1 3QU Contract type Fixed-term contract until 31 July 2023 Reporting to Professor Brian Marsden Additional information Funding provided by the Department The function The Centre for Medicines Discovery (CMD) is a new multi-disciplinary Institute within the University ofOxford's Nuffield Department of Medicine, which focuses upon basic and translational science to catalyse the discovery and development of new medicines for patients. The CMD is directed by Prof. Chas Bountra,Professor of Translational Medicine and is located at the University of Oxford's Old Road Campus, at theheart of Oxford's biomedical research and clinical capabilities. The centre works closely other Universitydepartments, hospitals, SMEs and pharmaceutical companies within the UK and overseas. The Research Informatics group within the CMD-Oxford recently established a Small Research Facility(SRF) and is seeking a highly organised and practiced leader in biomedical data management andinformatics to manage and coordinate the CMD data management and informatics platforms. Working closely with the PI and independently when required, you will ensure the provision of data managementand informatics solutions for early-stage drug discovery and diagnostics pipelines which include coveringchemical and structure biology as well as pandemic preparedness capabilities. You will manage the workof up to 5 members of the team, cost the SRF projects and ensure they are delivered in a timely manner. The work entails achieving strong and dynamic long-term relationships and support for customers as wellas rapid innovation to support new data types, capture and dissemination methods. The ResearchInformatics group interacts broadly with the other groups in the CMD as well as departments within theUniversity and organisations world-wide, providing a unique set of solutions.
