The Division of Natural Sciences is a thriving academic community with a strong tradition of interdisciplinarity. The portfolio spans Biosciences, Physics & Astronomy, Chemistry & Forensic Science, Sport & Exercise Sciences and the newly founded Kent and Medway Medical School. With a broad portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered at the University's campus', the Division of Natural sciences provides a truly multidisciplinary community. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the HR Manager will sit within the Division and co-lead the divisional HR team with another HR Manager to deliver a full and tailored best in class HR service to the division. You'll partner with and support the Divisional leadership abilities Team on all aspects of the divisional people agenda, identifying specific people related issues, challenges, and opportunities. People and solutions focused, you'll ensure employee issues are managed in a fair and consistent manner, and in line with our University HR policies and practices. this function works in a devolved HR structure, and you'll need to strike the balance between developing local HR practices that are needed within the division, and ensuring that University policies, procedures and guidance are adhered to, enabling consistency and ultimately mitigating people related risks. You'll maintain strong relationships with all functions within the central HR&OD directorate, as well as with other devolved HR colleagues across the University. We're looking for someone with strong technical HR expertise, but importantly with excellent communication and relationship building expertise. You'll hold a CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent) recognised qualification and/or have broad, significant recent HR generalist practice, working in a similar employee focused level function.
