Job description
The Communications and Engagement Manager is responsible for delivering a broad communications and engagement portfolio, as part of a team working to grow, develop and support our thriving community of postgraduate research students (PGRs) across all research degree programmes at King's College London. They will have line management responsibility of the Student Engagement Coordinator, working as a team to deliver student practice initiatives for PGRs.
A core element of King's Research Strategy is to ?retain, develop and recruit world-class talent', and our PGR Strategy includes an aspiration to increase PGR numbers by about 1000 over the next ten years. The function holder will therefore play a crucial function in supporting stakeholder engagement, and liaising with students and staff to facilitate an engaged, vibrant and growing postgraduate research community.
The function holder will have oversight and management of existing communications channels as well as designing and delivering new initiatives.
This post is located in the Centre for Doctoral Studies in the Doctoral Student Environment and Development team, which has overall focus on providing researcher development opportunities and enhancing PGR student practice at King's. This post will work collaboratively with the Doctoral Development arm of the team and develop initiatives to enhance student practice, opportunities and inclusivity.
The function holder will be a key member of the Centre for Doctoral Studies (CDS) staff but will also work closely with faculty-located communications colleagues and the Corporate Communications team, as well as developing close working relationships with key academic and professional services staff.

This post will be offered on an indefinite contract
This is a part-time post - 80% full time equivalent.
The team is currently hybrid working, combining working in the house and working on campus. We are open to other flexible working requests.
