We invite applications for the above appointment in the School of Human and Behavioural Sciences. The School of Human and Behavioural Sciences is an exciting new School which is the product of a recent merger between two exceptional Schools: the School of Psychology and the School of Sport, Health & Exercise Sciences.
The purpose of this new post is to complement and extend the School's award-winning Teaching Team. The Teaching Team are an innovative and ambitious team embedded within the School, whose specific remit is to deliver exciting and innovative teaching and student support across our degree programmes. For this post, along with the capability to teach across the broad range of core BPS subjects (for example Research Methods), the applicant should have a particular interest in developing marketing and recruitment, and student engagement initiatives. As a School with a sustained track record of excellence in research and impact, in addition to teaching, the candidate should have an appropriate track record in research and this should map onto the taught programmes within the School, which include Psychology with Clinical & Health Psychology, Psychology with Neuropsychology, Psychology with Forensic Psychology, and Sport & Exercise Psychology. candidates with skills in clinical and health psychology and/or forensic psychology, are particularly welcome to apply.
Both Psychology and Sport Science at Bangor were ranked in the top twenty for research by the Research Exercise Framework 2014, and both are consistently ranked in the top ten by the National Student Survey. Psychology is ranked in the top quartile for subject area in The Times Good University Guide 2021. The School ranks in the top 10 in terms of overseas student numbers and has staff from over 15 different countries. Bangor University is one of the only universities in Wales to hold Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

The prosperous candidate will possess a PhD in Psychology/closely related subject (or near to completion).
