Job Summary
Our Technical Services agents support teaching in undergraduate laboratories, as well as contributing to the expansion of research activities. As such you will need to have an interest in working with students and researchers within the School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences.
You will assist academic staff in the delivery of laboratory-located classes; operate, maintain and demonstrate equipment; assist in the development of experimental modules; and assist in the preparation of equipment and materials for laboratory session.
We expect you to have good laboratory expertise and have some practice of a wide variety of techniques in the fields of food science and nutrition, molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry and physiology as well as preparation of reagents within a COSHH regulated environment. Enthusiasm, a availability to learn, good organisational expertise and computer literacy are essential.

income on first appointment is normally to the bottom of the scale, although in exceptional circumstances an appointment further up the scale may be considered.
